The Common Sense Approach to Gas Boilers

Residential Gas Boiler

Residential Gas Boiler

The fact is that not every property has a renewable solution to hot water and central heating. When some properties were designed, renewable energy wasn’t even heard of and in some properties, renewable energy is not practical. So the best alternative must be used.

Gas boilers use fossil fuel, but they are cheaper to run than oil or electricity. If you are going to continue using a gas boiler for your hot water and central heating, it makes sense to use an energy efficient ‘A’ rated boiler.

Most of the boilers we recommend have a 7 or 10 year manufacturers guarantee.

If your current boiler is over 10 years old, you might want to think about changing it for a newer, more efficient model.

Some new boilers have the capability of using a Fuelsaver. A unit that sits on top of the boiler and uses the heat from the flue gasses to pre-heat cold water before entering the boiler. Giving you a potential fuel saving up to 50% and also reducing your cold water run off before the required temperature is reached. If you are on a water meter, this will give you another financial saving.

More savings can be achieved by splitting your heating system into zones and using energy efficient controls.

Additional options:
Fuelsaver
The Multifit GasSaver is a proven money saving product.

that sits neatly between a boiler and flue and
recycles the heat from the flue gases which
would normally be expelled into the atmosphere
and wasted. It has been proven by independent
testing to achieve domestic hot water savings
of up to 7% and can reduce the gas used to
heat hot water by up to 50% annually*.

Weather compensation kit
The plug-and-play Multifit Weather Compensation Kit is designed to monitor the outside temperature and adjust your boiler’s performance accordingly. By helping the boiler perform more efficiently it reduces energy consumption and hence lowers your fuel bills.

Power diverters
If you have a hot water tank, we can divert power from a PV (Solar Panel) system, to heat your hot water. Saving you money on Gas.

Solar Thermal
We can fit you a twin coil hot water cylinder and solar thermal tubes on the roof. Light and heat warm a fluid in the tubes and the heat is transferred to your hot water. Saving you money on gas.

How it works
The Multifit GasSaver stores the condensate normally expelled into the atmosphere through the boiler flue. Heat from this condensate is then recycled to preheat water coming into the boiler from the cold mains supply, significantly reducing the amount of gas required by the boiler to heat the water. This means lower energy bills for the householder and greater carbon savings.

Key features and benefits

  1. Low carbon solution, offering up to 700kg carbon emissions saving**
  2. Reduces cold water consumption by up to 7%*
  3. Maintenance free – no moving parts and no annual servicing required
  4. Constructed from 316L Stainless Steel ensuring longevity
  5. No controls or settings
  6. Increases boiler efficiency – saves up to 50% of the gas used to heat hot water annually*
  7. Simple to install – designed for easy and fast fitting
  8. Reduces nuisance pluming – utilises flue gas latent heat to improve DHW operational efficiency
  9. Blending valve supplied as standard – maximising recovered energy
